Yankee know-how....
From another board: A Japanese company (Toyota) and an American company (Ford) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing. Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents, and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners, and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes, and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices, and bonuses. The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India Sadly, The End. Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US , claiming they can't make money paying American wages. TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US . The last quarter's results: TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses. Ford folks are still scratching their heads. .

Toyota annouces grand opening of new san antonio tx truck plant, Ford annouces closing Norfolk truck plant and converting other ones to make cars. Toyota has spent the last 30 years begging for tax breaks and Ford has had the number 1 best selling vehicle in the country the F-series trucks Although sales were slow at start, the T100 sales did reach into the mid 40,000 vehicles sold range (1996) in the United States. Although decent numbers, from Toyota's standpoint (at the time), General Motors pickup sales were roughly 700,000 per year, while Ford sales surged from 550,000 to nearly 850,000 and Dodge went from 100,000 to 400,000 with the introduction of the new Dodge Ram in 1994. Coincidentally or not, sales of the T100 fell approximately 30% when the new Ram went on the market half a year or so after the T100's launch. The all new Tundra is assembled in two different locations, both inside the United States; Princeton, Indiana and San Antonio, Texas. Toyota Motor Company will assemble around 150,000 Standard and Double Cabs, and only 70,000 Crew Max's in 2007. I wonder how 2008 is shaping up :?:

Good news in Ohio. GM is spending over $500 million to retool their Lordstown, OH plant near Youngstown to make the Chevrolet Cruze. Will get around mid-40's MPG. They're hiring about 2,000 workers...average pay is around $26.00/hr with union bennies. Currently, they can't crank out Chevy Cobalts (37 mpg) fast enough. Lordstown is the only domestic GM plant geared toward small cars. GM put all it's eggs in the truck/SUV/Hummer basket...big markups and fat profit margins. Then fuel prices shot up and they got caught with their pants down. Japanese companies never abandoned the small sedan.

Shitting on American labor is the modern mantra of both parties. Anybody who will work for 40 cents an hour is de facto a superior worker, regardless of quality, education, or stamina. You get this mentality in every university in the country, and the brainwashing starts in grade school. You see, these morons actually think they are only punishing white working class people, who are apparently the main instigators of racism and poverty for minorities, never mind the fact that working class white people have zero political power, have zero input into most of American history, and punishing them for 'America's Sins' is a very popular game with politicians in both parties. Somehow, outsourcing all the good blue collar jobs and encouraging unchecked illegal immigration magically has absolutely no effect on American hispanics and blacks abilities to earn livings, cuz we can send them all to college, or at least that's how the meme goes ... it shows just how out of touch with reality the powers in this country are with their own nation and it's economy, and how frigging stupid the self-styled 'Progressives' are in the Democratic Party. These morons actually believe this stuff is only hurting white working class people and small business owners, all of whom are virulent racists, according the common 'wisdom'. They're insane.
