R.I.P. Consolidated Freightways
http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/cf_tribute.htm On September 2, 2002 ( Labor Day) Consolidated Freightways filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Am I to assume that you just now noticed this?

zigzag- 09-02-2007

why would you assume that ? it's labor day weekend and the 5th aniversery, kind of hard to forget considering it was done on labor day

Nocount- 09-02-2007

Done on a week-end in which we honor the "working man", so in essence the management of CF stuck their middle finger up at the "working man" and I really believe that the closing was done in this manner. They could have closed the doors a week before or a week later, but no, they did it on "Labor Day"-----Screw the working man----This was the message!

zigzag- 09-02-2007

you got that right and notice they are now calling it conway freight, watch them stick CF back on the trucks. The origional stock is still good, just no more union drivers, they spun off CF as a seperate company and conway remained part of the orgional company, all they did was chuck 15,000 union people out the door.

I had just rolled into a F'ingJ truck stop near a CF terminal north of LA, somef'ingplace, and decided to listen to NOT-sirius and see what the hell was going on the other world. It is next door to the CF terminal wherever I was and was packed with tractors and trailers and the whole spectrum of radio was abuzz with the news. Damn!! Been five years already. Zigzag sure does get old fast.

You were still John Grady on OOIDA and were and still are a major pain in the arse.

There is something seriously wrong with that lying scumbag. He gets caught red handed, again, and still makes up some BS. At least be a man about it and admit it.

So steel city scooter claimed he never posted here. He was not a very good liar on the Hd forums either.

they spun off CF as a seperate company and conway remained part of the orgional company, all they did was chuck 15,000 union people out the door. And the Teamsters just sit on their asses and let this happen. This is where I really have a problem. When are the unions of this country going to grow a "backbone" and stand up to corporate America instead of being their "whore"? If Jimmy Hoffa had gotten control of the Teamsters back and the government hadnt had him killed, you would not have seen this type of shit happen. But here we are, on the verge of the invasion of Mexican trucks, almost thirty years after deregulation, and what is going to happen?-----------NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so when do we overthrow the goverment?
