McManager reaches top 1% Maria Munoz, who came to the United States from Argentina in 2001 at the age of 16, did not let her inability to speak English or her age deter her from her dreams of success in America.
Although she immediately found a job as a cashier at a Branford McDonald's, Munoz kept her goals high. Just seven years later, she is the manager of the McDonald's in Milford on Boston Post Road, and recently received the Ray Kroc Award, which was started six years ago to recognize the top one percent of McDonald's managers in the country.

she should have got an education

Good for her. She's obviously smarter than 99% of Dweller Nation; they can't seem to work at the same company a year, much less reach the income level she's at. See thread on CR England bankrupts ... Stayed in the same community, too, instead of joining the yuppie nomad caravans roaming the highways looking for The Next Boom Town.

In 2006, Emily Johnsen, a college student in New York, was hospitalized for stress just a few months shy of graduation. "It was the stress of putting together my master's thesis, and my financial situation -- knowing I was entering repayment for my loans," she says.
High Anxiety
Over six years of undergraduate and graduate education, Johnsen had taken out $140,000 in student loans, which her grandmother co-signed against her mother's wishes. After Johnsen earned her master's degree from a prestigious arts program at New York University, she assumed she'd make the median salary cited by the school's financial aid counselor -- $65,000. Instead, she couldn't find a position in her field paying more than $30,000.

Where does it say what Maria's salary is?

Maria wasted Emily by working at McDonalds Laughing left her ass in the dust Shocked
LOL no kidding. Emily wasn't pulling down what Maria made as an assistant manager in that part of the country.
Where does it say what Maria's salary is?
Since Maria is in Conn., I'm assuming, probably in the ballpark of $40K rock bottom, easy, probably $50K or better, plus bennies. Assistant Managers pull down over $30K there, and Mickey D's pay is usually higher than many fast food chains; they're a good franchise to own or work for, especially for a company that owns several in the same area. A regional manager, a job Maria is in line for in a couple of years easy, pulls down $78K plus around here, so in Conn. it's very likely quite a bit higher.
Emily is just an asshole who had rich relatives she could milk to stay in school and fuck off for a few more years.

STATUS: Full Time, Employee
SALARY: 30,000.00 - 35,000.00 USD /year

willington is in the boonies and the location doesn't involve taking care of anything outside the little indoor spot
so a manager down on the shoreline in a stand alone full scale fast food place that probably does way more business is probably getting something like $60k or better.
The added kicker is white folks brought in the cheap help and now store owners would sooner have one of them be a manager because they can better relate to the hispanic staff

Those fast-food manager jobs are better than dwelling (what isn't?), but they're nothing to brag about. The $40k-$50k salary looks good until you find yourself working 70-80 hrs (no overtime) dealing with flunkies, high-school dropouts, thugz, college kids, illegal aliens, 40-year old adolescents...definitely not a "motivated" workforce. Armed holdups are not uncommon in some of the inner-city restaurants. And everyone wants to "speak to the manager" whenever there's a problem.
It's a burn job for sure. A few might hit the McLotto and move up into corporate (the Dave Sweetman's of fast food), but there's really few such opportunities.
I remember when I was at driving school, there were 2 former fast-food managers in my class. Both fried from the job and eager to hit the open road earning the big bucks as paid tourists on the highpay highway. Funny thing was that after 2-3 months of OTR, they BOTH went back to fast-food!
