"Over the past few years, it has calmed somewhat due to advancing age and the realization that One Cannot Polish A Turd." Too soon old, too late smart. Is that what "...a regular driving job." gets you...??? And where did you see all this 'shiat'.....???? You never did drugs, never drove tired or outside of the regulations.......you've probably never had an hallucination...either from using drugs or NOT using them. Did you spend 20 years trying to 'polish turds' before you realized it couldn't be done...??? Did you and Ziggy lie awake at night telling each other horror stories about having to sleep in a truck...???? Did the mere mention of having to fill your trailer with ONE product and delivering it to ONE customer 2000 miles away have you vomiting with fear...??? And did the morning light and, across the table Ziggy's boyish glow, convince you it was all the Mexicans fault...???.....or the teachers??? Where exactly did you witness all this "shiat"...... It's entirely possible that when people saw you driving your farmall with your ballcap turned backwards, they were unable to control their rage and flung everything within reach at you. I know I would have. :P I think you were born with " a bad attitude". Zigs' failed marriage with Werner has just made it worse because it's all you ever talk about anymore. And now, as you cuddle and do all those unmentionable things with your fingers............................................................................. .............................like pointing them at Mexicans and other assorted boogeymen, are you comforted knowing that your bond with Zig will one day be accepted in mainstream society...??? "Humorless"....does that mean 'not gay'???? No matter how intellectual a driver comes across, sooner or later they all show their true intellectual capacity and revert back to the homo thing. What is it with truckdrivers and their fixation on gays anyway???

chicken hauler- 09-30-2006

"No matter how intellectual a driver comes across, sooner or later they all show their true intellectual capacity and revert back to the homo thing." Relax.....Nobody is calling anybody a "homo". However, if you want to make a point that is being continually ignored, one of the best ways is to include sexual innuendo. You know what that is, don't you....???? Blaming other countries, other world leaders and failed national policies is too short-sighted for my tastes and I'm tired of reading about it from otherwise smart people. There is also the issue of spousal support that often flies in the face of rational analysis. If you can, forget the 'sexual innuendo' and find the points about the politics of oil. You can even ignore the references to 'drugs' as those points refer more to a general attitude that attempts to deflect from the real issue's affecting this industry. .

And did the morning light and, across the table Ziggy's boyish glow, convince you it was all the Mexicans fault...???..... Iknew it, I knew it...I knew he he was a fag... ..BTW CH..I've met Zigzag...There aint no "boyish glow"....

.I've met Zigzag...There aint no "boyish glow"....     No argument there. Most of them New England Yankees look like they just jumped out of a casket down at the funeral home; well, except for the clothes they're getting buried in. Even the kids. They're a pretty creepy looking bunch in general, like watching that 'Night OF The Living Dead' movie, only in real life.

Immigration supporters complain that being undocumented aliens made them easy prey for authorities. http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-rally1001.artoct01,0,7870111.story?track=rss "It's not only that they're not doing anything wrong, they are wanted and needed," Jourdain-Villavicencio said. Annie Williams of Danbury joined about 30 anti-immigrant pro-*test*-('")ers who watched the pickets from across the street as police stood nearby. They held aloft placards: "No Open Borders" and "Don't Employ Illegal Aliens." Williams, who said she was homeless, blamed her plight on having to compete with immigrants for housing and other social services. amazing the stupidity of people who actually defend people ignoring this countries laws, they are too damn stupid to see a problem with it and as long as they can find cheap help to take care of their plantation house in the burbs they don't care what problems it causes for other people.

Now the plant is paying a dollar more an hour than before the raid, to draw new workers from neighboring counties. "With the illegals gone, Americans have a chance to make more money," says Mr. Byrd. click here for story

I followed that story for a couple of days. The slant was always about how it was big tragedy for the town's economy because they rounded up a bunch of criminals. No mention of how many locals had to leave town to find work, or how many businesses went under because the town's main industry started paying half the wages they used to way back when. That would be racist. I'm sure the crooks running the place had the full support of all the local Boosters and Rotarians and good ole boys. Everybody knows the best way to increase business is to cut your town's main employer's payroll in half ...

no mention of the millions of people who's social security numbers that where stolen They will cripple the tax collection system in the country. Poor Bob Smith has 321 jobs around the country and the IRS has a problem with him claiming to be retired.

A group of illegal immigrants who worked for Wendy's International Inc. is suing the restaurant chain because the company fired them after discovering it had missed a deadline for joining a federal program that would have helped them attain legal status. I'm not safe anymore," said Olivares, who has been in the country 14 years. rest of story click

The U.S. has no shortage of labor and would not have one if all illegals went home. Department of Labor statistics show that there are 69 million Americans between the ages of 16-74, who are simply not in the workforce. They represent 10 Americans for each illegal worker. the illegal workforce numbers 6.9 million. Illegals, then, represent 4.9% of our workforce of 141 million people, according to Labor. 140 million working and 70 million not working, so unemployment is 33% remove the younger people in school and the people over 62 that are really retired and unemploment is probably over 20% many people counted as employed are only working part time many of the people in school or over 62 would take part time jobs if they paid better. Minus all the make work do nothing that accomlishes much government jobs and not even 1/3 of the population has real jobs and many of them are low paying jobs.

Dominoes- 10-10-2006

Are those the la-*test*-('") stats, Zig? What is the source of that quote? Around 25%-35% real unemployement rate is my own guess, and has been for long time.

zigzag- 10-10-2006

What is the source of that quote? some editorial in the wall street journal that quoted government numbers. probably only 1/3 of the people that do work got some job that matters. americans are too fat and lazy to cook so they go out to eat. They got nothing better to do so drive around and create demand to roads & cars and all the goes along with it. Out of bordom they go shopping,so people have to build useless malls and work at them selling junk and than somebody else has to build a mini storage because all the junk they own won't fit in their house. They throw the junk out someday and create more work for people hauling it away. reality is everyone could work 1 day a week and we would all have, food, clothing and shelter

Jury: Wal-Mart Broke Pennsylvania Labor Laws Thursday , October 12, 2006 Associated Press PHILADELPHIA — A state jury found Thursday that Wal-Mart (WMT) broke Pennsylvania labor laws by forcing employees to work through rest breaks and off the clock, a decision plaintiffs' lawyers said would result in at least $62 million in damages. Jurors will return Friday to determine damages in the class-action lawsuit, which covers up to 187,000 hourly current and former workers. "I think it reinforces that this company's sweatshop mindset is a serious problem, both legally and morally," said Chris Kofinis, a spokesman for WakeUpWalMart.com, a union-funded effort to improve working conditions at the stores. The Bentonville, Ark.-based retail giant is facing a slew of similar suits around the country. Wal-Mart settled a Colorado case for $50 million and is appealing a $172 million award handed down last year by a California jury. The company declined to comment because of the pending deliberations over damages. "Because the jury is still in deliberations, it would not be appropriate to comment on this matter until a decision is reached," Wal-Mart spokesman John Simley said. Plaintiffs' lawyer Michael Donovan also declined comment. The jury deliberated on the verdict for several hours over two days, after a five-week trial. Jurors found that Wal-Mart acted in bad faith but rejected claims that the company denied workers meal breaks. Wal-Mart, the nation's largest employer, earned $10 billion in 2004. The Pennsylvania case involves labor practices at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores between March 1998 and May 1, 2006. Lead plaintiff Dolores Hummel, who worked at a Sam's Club in Reading from 1992-2002, charged in her suit that she had to work through breaks and after quitting time to meet work demands in the bakery. She said she worked eight to 12 unpaid hours a month, on average, to meet work demands. "One of Wal-Mart's undisclosed secrets for its profitability is its creation and implementation of a system that encourages off-the-clock work for its hourly employees ..." Hummel said in her suit, which was filed in 2002. The plaintiffs used electronic evidence, such as systems that show when employees are signed on to cash registers and other machines, to help win class certification during several days of hearings last year. Wal-Mart had a corporate policy that gives hourly employees in Pennsylvania one paid 15-minute break during a shift of at least three hours and two such breaks, plus an unpaid 30-minute meal break, on a shift of at least six hours.
